01

Independence

Game Defense is not an official publisher initiative, security vendor, law-enforcement body, or industry trade association. No relationship with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or another publisher should be inferred from coverage. Any formal relationship or material conflict affecting a page should be disclosed clearly.

Editorial conclusions should follow the available evidence, not whether a source supports a preferred outcome.

02

Editorial transparency

Material claims about active incidents should be linked to an appropriate source close to the claim. Official statements establish what an organization has said; they do not automatically prove every disputed fact. Secondary reporting is evaluated for sourcing, specificity, corroboration, and proximity.

A manual Last reviewed date changes only after substantive review. It is not generated automatically to create an appearance of freshness.

03

Status language

Confirmed Direct, authoritative evidence.

Reported Accountable publication, clearly attributed.

Claimed Assertion by an interested party.

Unverified Insufficient reliable evidence.

04

Corrections

Accuracy matters more than preserving an earlier claim. Email contact@gamedefense.org with the page URL, statement at issue, concise explanation, and reliable supporting source.

Minor clarity edits may be made without a note. A material factual change should be identified where it helps readers understand the record. No response-time promise is made.

05

Funding

Support may help cover hosting, infrastructure, security, research tools, documentation, and operations. It does not buy favorable coverage, editorial control, private access, ownership, or a promised result.

No totals, supporter counts, allocation percentages, or impact statistics are published unless supported by actual records. Game Defense is not presented as a registered charity and offers no charitable tax receipt.

06

No token or return

Game Defense does not issue a cryptocurrency, token, NFT, security, or investment product. Supporters are not investors and receive no promise of profit, appreciation, governance, equity, or repayment.

If cryptocurrency support is enabled later, only operator-supplied addresses with explicit networks will appear. Placeholder addresses are never shown.

07

Privacy by reduction

The first version uses direct email links rather than a public evidence-upload system. This reduces the amount of sensitive material collected and the attack surface required to handle it.

Do not email leaked builds, source code, passwords, access tokens, private keys, database contents, doxxed information, malware, or suspicious executables.

08

Capabilities we do not claim

No private publisher-system access. No tracking or identification of individuals. No intercepted communications. No security operations center. No forensic attribution, legal representation, enforcement power, guaranteed removal, or guarantee that time-sensitive coverage updates immediately.

The project works primarily from public, lawfully accessible sources. That limits what can be known—and limits unnecessary risk.

A record of restraint

Transparency is not a collection of impressive numbers.

It is the practice of stating what is known, naming the source, identifying uncertainty, correcting mistakes, and declining to claim more than the evidence supports.
